Nutrient Dense Ice Cream
Ice cream was never my favorite desert because of the amount of additives and how sweet sickening sweet it always was. However, as I went through my healing journey, introducing and learning the benefits of dairy, especially raw, led me to eat ate more milk, and cream.
So when it’s summer time, there is no better combination that pastured, grass-fed raw heavy cream, egg yolks, a seasonal flavor of choice and just the right amount of sweetness.
Recipe:
2 Cups grass-fed heavy cream (raw if preferred)
1 Cup grass-fed whole milk (raw if preferred)
1/4-1/2 Cup of maple syrup
6 Pastured egg yolks
1 Pinch of Redmond/Celtic Sea Salt
Mix all ingredients together until homogenous. Add to an ice cream maker and follow instruction on machine.
Note: All of these ingredients are meant to be local to your area. I use maple syrup as it is a local sweetener to me. Local dairy and eggs. Use what is in your area. Recipes are guidelines to experiment with, not rules.
